ONE MORE TIME!!

It was "deja vu". It was that time again.
The Conference won, they were in their prime.
Another Super Bowl, this time to meet the "Birds".
Could those Broncos do it, one more time?

It was hot in Miami on that "Super" Day.
An electric charge seemed to fill the air.
Suspense and excitement filled every thought
Of the sell-out crowd that had gathered there.

The Falcons wished to win for their Coach, Dan Reeves
Who still convalesced from a grim ordeal.
They had beaten the Vikings in overtime,
And the Bronco's fate, they wanted so to seal.

Their Title at stake, the Bronco's played it safe.
They had studied the game plan long and hard.
The fake, the pass, the reverse, the run.
There was no free lunch, they'd pay for every yard.

They were Champs once more in the AFC.
And had gained respect all through the year.
They were a fighting force to be reckoned with,
And of the "Dirty Birds", they had no fear.

And what about Elway, our own "Big John"?.
Would this be the one, his final game?
He always played with class and with humble pride,
And he had won our hearts, on his road to fame.

The Falcons tried, but it was all in vain.
They struggled so, but could not save the day.
Three interceptions were just too much to bear,
And Elway pulled a sneak to put the game away.

Opportunities lost, the Falcons could not fly.
They wanted to soar and circle round and round.
But their wings were clipped by a better team,
And those "Dirty Birds" fell to the ground.

The Broncos came through, Super Champs once more.
Their effort rewarded with another ring.
Now time to rest, then Summer Camp will call;
What tests and trials will the New Year bring?

But has Elway given his last salute?
The Hall of Fame awaits... his work is done.
That familiar smile will be on his face,
As he waves and turns to meet the setting sun.
