What a wonderful
thing, is a day in Spring
It's sunshine, it's showers, and birds that sing.
It's trees and flowers wanting so to be seen
As they burst forth in colors brilliant, and green
Winter nappers will
rise then look out at the sun.
A new world waits outside, a new year has begun.
The cycle resumes: food, family, survival, and then,
Back to cave, den or burrow and a long sleep again.
The brooks and the
streams start to rapidly flow,
As the heat takes its toll on the deep winter snow.
The lakes and the reservoirs will all get their share.
To be used late in summer...when rainfall is rare.
The
do-it-yourselfers can't wait to get out the door.
They have plans and projects and schemes by the score.
A fountain, a garden, a greenhouse perhaps.
Twixt digging and pruning there's no time for naps.
Work must be done
quickly, it won't pay to wait.
Fate deals firmly with those who procrastinate.
It's too hot, it's too wet, your tools break, disappear.
Then it's really too late to finish this year.
But please don't
despair and let's not forget.
That Spring is, for certain, the best season yet.
New life and new hope. Let's stop and smell the rose.
There's only so much time and it so quickly goes.
