When Summer comes,
the days are long;
As evening ends we still have light.
And the heat of day, so reluctantly,
finally yields to the cool of night.
Shorts and sandals
are back in style.
The snow and cold are soon forgot.
An ice-cold drink is all you want,
And some shade when it gets too hot.
Vacation time will
soon be here
Can you take a week.. or two?
The question comes up every year,
Where can you go, what will you do?
A picnic in the
mountains,
By a gleaming, peaceful lake.
Or a casual stroll in the eventide.
That so many love to take.
What joy to hear the
sea breeze call;
Waves breaking on the shore.
A time to rest, set cares aside,
Now really, who could want much more?
A cookout on July
the Fourth
With family and friends.
A proud and happy time for all.
You hope that feeling never ends.
Yes, that's what
summer's all about,
Take time for family, for fun.
Too soon we'll see the days grow short
And bid goodbye to the warm, bright sun.
