ANOTHER YEAR
Tonight another year fades into history. Has one ever flown by so fast before?. We can truly say
that it was much too short, As we knock once more on Father Time's front door.
We gather here and there, with kith and kin, And eagerly wait to see the New Year in. The countdown begins with the number
TEN.., A hush falls upon us, we pause, and then:
It's NINE.. then EIGHT.. Fill your glass with wine. Can you recall the words to Auld Lang Syne? Now SEVEN.. and you know your future is bright. Next
year belongs to the one you kiss tonight.
Time marches on and the call is SIX.., The old year leaves, in just six more ticks. The count of FIVE.. is heard both loud and clear. What resolutions can we
make next year?
Now it's FOUR.. our breath is held in tight. Next year, for sure, we'll do things right. It's THREE.. then TWO.. we hold our glasses high, As that diapered babe streaks through the
sky.
Time seems to stop, all the world stands still. Hearts cease to beat as they await the thrill. The quiet breaks, it's ONE... the clarion call. We wish a "HAPPY NEW YEAR" to one and all!
